An eMail contact is not a bad idea, but there are better options, safer at least. Maybe you don’t know, but originally, the eMail protocol was designed in such a way that the content of an eMail still can be read while it travels across several internet servers.

The journey between two servers may be very long and rely on many intermediaries. Besides, bots working for intelligence services or criminal networks are listening. It is technically possible to alter the content of an eMail while it travels on the Internet.

Is encrypted eMail a good choice?

The goal of encryption is to make eMail content unreadable by third parties, meaning that only the recipient will be able to read it. Likewise, you alone will be able to read the eMails that he or she sends you. Be aware that the subject line of an encrypted eMail is never itself encrypted, not until this moment. Nonetheless, not all eMail providers allow us to work as a TEAM. What does that mean for you? It means that you can use any eMail provider that you wish, as long as you join our WorkSpace at Slack.

You should always check your Spam folder if you are expecting a reply from somebody and if you find that precious eMail in your Spam folder, mark it is as “Not Spam” to help ensure any future communications.
